From Model Factory Hiro website I learn that there is an upcoming release of a Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R 1000, the Suzuka 8-hours winner. The kit is full detail and from the pictures that can be viewed by clicking the image to the right it is going to be a hell of a kit. Kit is listed at www.hiroboy.com at a steap 132 pounds sterling.
During my 6 months absence from the modeling scene I've gathered quite a few little gems from different retailers that might be of interest. Click the image to the right and I'll give you a little sum up.

On the Tamiya web site you can now find some information on the ZX-RR bike. It's going to be a 2006 version with numbers for both Nakano and De Puniet. Release date are set to mid june.

Heard from a friend down under that Tamiya are releasing a Kawasaki ZX-RR Ninja kit. This is also supported by their web site. Fabulous news but so far no word on what year it will represent or a release date.

Took some time to deliver anything to the news section for 2007. Hope it's not symptomatic for this year in modeling...
First, let's get rid of the bad news. I heard from Dave at Detailanddesigninscale.com that he is dropping the business in the near future. Sad to hear but I know he does it for his own well being and to get back to our building table himself. Hopefully someone will go on with this fantastic Mekka for us bike builders. My hat off for Dave and everything he managed to make me buy (that was a joke ;-) )
Off to the more fun parts! Some news has made it to the shops or are so in the near future. Tamiya has announced earlier that they are to release the Konica Minolta version of the 2006 RC211V molds.
To go with that Tamiya web tells me that they are also to release one of the tarmac plows of 2006, yes it is Casey Stoners bike from the LCR team. A bit surprising but much welcome!
Tamiya has also announced another fork set. This time for the 06 RCV´s. Not that surprising and I don't know what I think about these detailing parts...but here they are.
On the Tamiya web site they also show some pieces from the fork set suiting their prior RCV kits, I'll post them even if the news itself are pretty cold.
Many of us were surprised when Tamiya announced that the Repsol bike from 2006 would represent a set up suiting Pedrosa and not Hayden. Studio 27 is out to fix that gap with a late season Hayden RC211V. Not too much to show yet but I give you what there is on their site.
Something that perhaps has been here for a while but at least haven´t gotten my attention until recently are the weather boxes from Tamiya. Small "make up"-boxes to weather your models. There is one most suitable for our bike kits. It contains blue, red and burnt metal.
